11/17/06: David is doing well
Good morning! This is Daniel and Debbie.
Daniel says: Grandpa is walking around, and is able to use the restroom on his own. So, that means no more catheter. Hurray! He has a smail on his face, and he's talking to everybody.
Debbie says: Yesterday, dad had a angiogram and angioplasty. The doctor found that one of his arties was 95% blocked. That's where two of the grafts from his 1981 quadruple bypass had collapsed. So, the doctor inserted a stint. The blood now flows freely through that area of dad's heart. His oxygen level, blood pressure, and heart rate are all normal now. Dad couldn't sit up for 3 hours after the procedure -- which means he couldn't eat for three hours. He was starving because he hadn't eaten for 24 hours in preparation for the angioplasty. Dad had pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, applesauce, and wor wonton as soon as the nurses let him sit up to eat.
