11/15/06, 9:45 PM PST: Update on David's health
[Posted by Debbie, from a cell phone conversation with Doug, Sr., who was in David's hospital room.]
Dad is scheduled for an angiogram and angioplasty tomorrow morning. There is a danger. He has been running a temperature, indicative of an infection, since he collapsed on Friday. The danger is that the angioplasty and the angiogram may spread the infection. The most dangerous case is if stints need to be inserted during the angioplasty. The stints, in his heart, could become infected.
Dad was off oxygen all day yesterday. But, his oxygenation level fell below 90% today. So, he is back to using an oxygen mask. His temperature is still elevated at 99.6F. His blood pressure, still a bit low but better than it was, was 107/64 (normal is 120/80), and his heart rate was 53 (normal is 80) -- all as of an hour ago, while he was sleeping (8:45 PM PST).
