I phoned Dad's cell phone, then Dora's cell phone, thinking I would get Erwin or Dora on the line. No one answered. Then, a few seconds later, my cell phone rang. It was dad! He was eating breakfast and did not answer the cell phone in time, he said. Dad was having pancakes, sausage, and eggs to eat -- and sounded like he was enjoying them. He is still a bit hoarse.
Dad said that he was having an angiogram and angioplasty, possibly today.
Who is visiting:
1) Erwin and Dora are still staying at the hospital, and have been in Reno since Friday.
2) Doug, Sr., is back in Reno now -- having driven up there from Esparto again this morning.
3) Auntie Dorothy and Steve arrived yesterday by Amtrak. Amtrak was about 4 hours late in getting there. But, they arrived safely.
4) Uncle Edmund and Sheryn are probably in Reno by now. They left their house around 5:30 AM this morning. They are visiting for today and driving Auntie Dorothy and Steve back home.
6) Doug, Jr., is on the road and on his way to Reno right now as I type.
7) I will be going to Reno from Woodland, possibly with Daniel, tomorrow (Thursday). I will be in San Francisco at the high school today to teach and to set up my class for a remote, online class session which will occur on Friday, 11/17.
Wikipedia definitions:
Angiogram: is a medical imaging technique in which an X-ray picture is taken to visualize the inner opening of blood filled structures, including arteries, veins and the heart chambers. ngiograms require the insertion of a catheter into a peripheral artery, e.g. the femoral artery.
Angioplasty: is a medical procedure in which a balloon is used to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels of the heart (coronary arteries). It is not considered to be a type of surgery. See also cardiac catheterization and angiogram. In almost all cases, a device called a stent is also placed at the site of narrowing or blockage in order to keep the artery open. A common type of stent is made of self-expanding, stainless steel mesh.
